DIG Dormont is a group of volunteer community residents working to increase and revitalize “green space” in Dormont, as part of Dormont Borough's Recreation/Community Affairs Committee.

DIG Dormont participation is open to Dormont residents who are interested in revitalizing the community at large through both short- and long-term gardening and beautification efforts and events. DIG Dormont kicked off the summer of 2009 by clearing, planting, weeding and mulching part of the vacant lot located at the corner of Hillsdale and West Liberty Avenues. Plans are underway for future plantings at the site this summer.

Maintaining planters along Potomac Avenue and islands in the Park Plan, “greening up” and beautifying West Liberty and Broadway Avenues, and raising awareness about the many benefits of shared green spaces, are also central to DIG Dormont’s mission.
